Photography Tips

In this video, I discuss how I approached photographing this year's sandhill crane migration.
Every fall, the sandhill cranes migrate through Minnesota and Wisconsin. At Crex Meadows in Grantsburg, there are thousands that arrive in late October and stay until mid-November. I try to make a couple of trips up to this area each year to photograph the birds. This year, they were a little more spread out, but I was still able to get some nice shots.
I discuss my camera settings, and dealing with some challenging light situations. As I like to say, there is no such thing as bad light, I just need to figure out how to work with what nature is giving me.
If you want to skip to the slide show, that occurs at the 5:30Â mark in the video.
