Explore the wonders of macro photography. Macro hotography allows you to create amazing images from everyday objects.

Depth of field can be challenge if subjects are close to the camera, or we are using a large aperture or focal length. In this class you will learn how to easily combine multiple shots to maximize the area of the photo that is in focus.

In this class you will get hands on, in the field experience photographing trumpeter swans, ducks, and geese. I will provide tips and assistance to help ensure that you come away with some great shots.

Don't want to go outside to take photos? in this class you will discover the fun of photographing flower arrangements indoors. Even better, the techniques taught in the class do not require expensive lighting or sets.

Winter is an amazing time to get out and photograph birds. Birds add a nice splash of color to an otherwise monochrome environment. This class includes both a lecture and field shoot.

Join us as we explore the world of nature photography on this field trip. We will begin with a quick discussion about camera modes and settings. During the hike, I will provide guidance and tips.

As we get into late winter, the activity around bird feeders begins to increase. In this free class, I will provide some tips for getting great shots of birds. This will be followed by spending some time out by the feeders.

Macro photography allows us to dive into the details of the world around us. During this class, you will learn how to capture close-up images of everyday objects, and how to overcome some of the challenges that macro photography presents.

Lightroom provides a powerful set of tools to help organize, edit, and share photos. In this class, you will learn how to create a basic workflow to import and organize photos, adjust the tonality, sharpen and reduce noise.

This class builds on the concepts covered in Lightroom 101. we begin with some further organization tools before getting into color correction/adjustment and creating composite images.

Tulips, irises and daffodils tell us that spring is here. In this class I will discuss how to use compositional techniques, depth of field, and available light to capture stunning spring flower photos.

Timing is everything when it comes to photographing spring ephemerals. Before the trees leaf out, the forest floors are covered with small colorful flowers. During this class, I will discuss techniques for photographing these spring beauties.

Spring is the best time for waterfall photography. In this class, I will discuss equipment and techniques for capturing interesting waterfall photos. We will then explore the grounds of the arboretum to practice.

Are you taking full advantage of your camera? Today's cameras have amazing video capabilities. In this class, I cover the basics of video creation using DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

We are so fortunate to have some amazing open spaces here in the United States. In this lecture, I will discuss my experiences photographing in our national, state, and local parks.

Early September is the perfect time for taking photos of butterflies and bees. In this class, I will show you how to get some creative images of these pollinators including flight shots!
