In this class you will learn how to great winter photos, protect yourself and your gear from the elements, and discover why winter is a great time for photography!

Join us for a winter photography hike at the Old Cedar Ave Trailhead in Bloomington MN

Join us for a mid-winter photo hike at Rotary Nature Preserve in White Bear Lake. During this hike, Don will provide winter photography tips as we explore the trails in the preserve.

Explore the wonders of macro photography. Macro photography allows you to create amazing images from everyday objects.

Depth of field can be a challenge if subjects are close to the camera, or we are using a large aperture or long focal length. In this class you will learn how to easily combine multiple shots to maximize the area of the photo that is in focus.

Join us as we photograph historic Stillwater Minnesota after dark. Mid-week is the perfect time to photograph these historic locations. Don will provide tips on working in low light, and composition.

Don't want to go outside to take photos? In this class you will discover the fun of photographing flower arrangements indoors. Even better, the techniques taught in the class do not require expensive lighting or sets.

Winter is an amazing time to get out and photograph birds. Birds add a nice splash of color to an otherwise monochromatic winter environment. This class includes both a lecture and field shoot.

During this class, I cover all the basics for nature photographers. This goes beyond camera modes covering topics like focus modes, when to use high ISO, lens selection, and composition.

As we get into late winter, the activity around bird feeders begins to increase. In this free class, I will provide some tips for getting great shots of birds. This will be followed by spending some time out by the feeders.

Timing is everything when it comes to photographing spring ephemerals. Before the trees leaf out, the forest floors are covered with small colorful flowers. During this class, I will discuss techniques for photographing these spring beauties.
