They often say "it is all in the details." Close-up and macro photography show us a world we rarely see even though it is literally right in front of us. By getting close, details emerge allowing us to create some truly amazing photos.

Course Overview
During this class, we will work with a number of the interesting subjects on the property of Hot Sams. This will be a mixture of lecture and hands on activities that reinforce the concepts covered in the lectures.

We will cover:
What is macro and close-up photography
Equipment required for this type of photography
How to focus using spot focus, manual focus and focus proxies.
Techniques for managing depth of field
Using water droplets to create interesting abstract images or to add interest to a subject.
An introduction to focus stacking.
Skill Level Required
This workshop is suitable for beginner to intermediate photographers. Prior to the class, students should be familiar with how to change the camera mode, ISO setting, autofocus mode, and focusing mode. This will save us a lot of time during the class.
We will be using spot focus and manual for many of our photos.
