Fall Scenes, Waterfalls and Wolves

October 2 - 4, 2020

Ely, Minnesota

Badlands and Ghost Towns

December 3 - 6, 2020

Wall, South Dakota

For 2020, we are returning to Ely and the Badlands.

These two locations never disappoint.  The fall in Ely is one of the most colorful areas in the fall that I have ever visited.  The Badlands are always showing me something new to photograph.  I really cannot get enough of either of these locations.

Fall Scenes, Waterfalls and Wolves

Fall is a great time to be in northern Minnesota.  Ely has amazing color in the fall.  Being at the edge of the BWCAW, there are all sorts of great unspoiled views.

In addition to the fall colors, we also get early admission to the International Wolf Center.  This allows us to photograph the wolves before the center is open to the general public.

Over the course of the weekend, we will visit many of my favorite locations.

Badlands and Ghost Towns

No matter what time of the year, the Badlands is a great destination.  In the early winter, with a little bit of snow, the formations are at their best.  Early December is also the time to find big horn sheep, and bison.  With very few visitors to the park, they tend to be closer to the road.

We also visit some ghost towns.  I have always wondered what some of the stories are behind these places.
